Who is Daniel Podence?

Wolves signed Daniel Podence from Olympiakos last January, paying £16.6m for the winger.

The 25-year-old played predominantly off the left for the Greek side but has been used most often as a versatile forward in the Premier League.

This term he has played just behind the striker, through the middle and on either side of the forward.

In the absence of Diogo Jota the January signing has taken on a more important role in the side, earning a WhoScored rating of 7.03 for his Premier League appearances this term.

Daniel Podence v Chelsea

This week Wolves earned a hard fought victory over Chelsea.

The midlands club went behind early in the second half due to an Olivier Giroud goal.

Daniel Podence equalised with a moment of magic as he engineered half a yard for a shot which he fired past Edouard Mendy.

The hosts clung on until the dying embers when Pedro Neto was released to fire one home in injury time.

Needless to say Kopites were delighted to see Chelsea lose to a stoppage time goal.

Such was the forward’s performance, Twitter has urged Liverpool to sign Daniel Podence.

Many users believe he fits the bill for an Anfield move with his flair and clever use of the ball.
