Liverpool reportedly considering Yves Bissouma transfer swoop

Liverpool are nifty navigators of the transfer market. The Reds are regularly found unearthing diamonds in the rough at bargain prices. Going for the less obvious target has become a habit. The habit looks set to continue with Liverpool reportedly considering a move for Yves Bissouma of Brighton.

Yves Bissouma stats and bio

Brighton signed Yves Bissouma from Lille in 2018, paying a fee believed to be around £15m.

The 24-year-old Malian international has been a standout performer for the Seagulls this season having previously been a rotation option.

Last term the midfielder made 15 starts and seven substitute appearances in the league, the season before he managed 17 starts and 11 showings from the bench.

This time around he has started in nine of his side’s 10 games.

Liverpool want Yves Bissouma

The Reds are short on numbers throughout the pitch.

The squad has been decimated by injuries this season.

As a result many believe the boss will look to strengthen in January.

TalkSPORT has claimed that Liverpool are weighing up a move for Yves Bissouma in the coming window.

The outlet has reported that Arsenal are also interested in the versatile midfielder.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool wanting Yves Bissouma makes sense.

He can play in a number of positions. Whilst Bissouma is often found in centre midfield or in front of the defence, he can also play on either wing or at right back.

This versatility is a trait which Jürgen Klopp values highly.

Furthermore he has proven himself in the Premier League. Last week he dominated the midfield against Liverpool, earning a WhoScored rating of 7.5.

This would be a sensible transfer for the Reds, hopefully it’s got some legs.
