Liverpool have one of the fiercest front lines in world football. The Reds have been at the top of the sport for a couple of years now in no small part because of the quality of their attack. It is difficult for backup stars to break into this world class lineup and many end up bench warming as a result. One such player could be on his way soon, Emile Heskey has backed Divock Origi to consider leaving Liverpool for the good of his career.

Divock Origi rise and fall
Divock Origi joined Liverpool in 2014 and he has had a remarkable career since.
His stay at Liverpool hasn’t been remarkable in the usual sense but rather in just how strange it has been.
The striker had an unsuccessful loan spell with Wolfsburg before returning to Anfield with his future in doubt.
Then he started scoring massive goals. In the past year and a bit the forward has scored some of our most important goals of recent times.
However, when the pressure isn’t turned up he doesn’t turn up either. Divock Origi has managed just two hours of football in the Champions League this term and he was largely anonymous for these minutes.
Emile Heskey on Divock Origi
In an exclusive interview with Rousing the Kop we asked Emile Heskey whether Divock Origi needs to be looking for a January move for the good of his career.
The ex-England striker told us that the forward needs to decide what he wants for his career, saying:
“I think for Divock Origi a decision needs to be made from his point of view.
“When you’re getting to that sort of age I think he has to make a decision himself. At that age you need some sort of consistency, you can’t be coming in and out of game and be expecting the best.
“He needs to look at himself and think: ‘is this what I want to do for the rest of my career or do I want to go and play and fulfil my potential?’
“When he broke onto the scene we were all saying big things about him, he went to a World Cup with Belgium and scored and it’s kind of not gone anywhere.
“Now you just see him as a sub as someone who can possibly affect a game every now and again but with performances like that (against Atalanta) you realise he’s not a starter for Liverpool.
“He’s got a decision to make whether it be January or the summer, he’s got a big decision to make about whether he wants to move on or not.”
What RTK has to say
We agree with Emile Heskey in his assessment of Divock Origi.
He is never going to be a regular starter for Liverpool and at the minute he isn’t even looking like too reliable of a backup.
The Belgian has been consistently disappointing in recent weeks and months.
In part we can put this down to Divvy not playing regularly enough.
Hopefully he’ll get some regular football elsewhere where he can really kick start his career.
