Ajax visit Liverpool this week for the Reds’ final home tie of the Champions League group stage. The Reds can qualify for the knockout phases if they win. Anything less than a victory won’t be enough. Ahead of the game Marco van Basten has told Ajax to target the Liverpool youngsters.
Liverpool had an impressive start to their Champions League campaign.
The Reds won each of their first three ties.
The first two games were unconvincing whilst the third was emphatic.
Things all changed when Jürgen Klopp’s side capitulated against Atalanta.

In what was one of the side’s worst performances in the past few years, Liverpool limped to a 2-0 defeat at Anfield against the Italians.
The Reds passed up the opportunity to qualify last week, a win tonight would secure a place in the knockout phase and a vital rest against Midtjylland.
Ajax star on Liverpool weakness
The Reds have been devastated by injuries in recent weeks.
As a result a number of youngsters have stepped into the first XI.
Speaking to Rondo, replayed by Ajax Showtime, Marco van Basten urged Ajax to attack the Liverpool youngsters:
“They now have a number of other defenders, and they really make the mistakes.
“If Ajax has to play against these guys, they really have to go on the attack.
“Defending is not Liverpool’s strongest point at the moment.”
What RTK has to say
If Ajax are going to get any joy at Liverpool it will likely be through the youngsters.
We can’t blame them though, they are teenagers learning on the job.
Our academy graduates won’t have been expecting to step up into these games yet they’re holding their own for the most part.
Hopefully we’ll see a determined performance from the two Williams teens should they make the starting XI.
