This week Liverpool take on Ajax in the Champions League with the Reds looking to secure qualification with a game to spare. A chastening defeat last time out has left Jürgen Klopp’s side with plenty to prove. Here is our predicted Liverpool team to face Ajax in the Champions League:
Goalkeeper: Alisson
Alisson has been exceptional in recent weeks, he hasn’t had much to do but he has had to do he has done with minimal fuss.
Right back: Neco Williams
The Scouser in our team is out injured and with James Milner also out we will turn to Neco Williams.
Centre back: Fabinho
The Brazilian may well get the nod given the importance of the fixture, though it could just as easily be Rhys Williams at the back.
Centre back: Joel Matip
The Cameroonian was rested at the weekend with this game in mind.
Left back: Andy Robertson
Andy Robbo, published author, must be knackered. We could well see Kostas Tsimikas take his place.
Centre midfield: Curtis Jones
The Scouser has started all but one of our Champions League games this season, he’ll get the nod again.
Centre midfield: Gini Wijnaldum
The Dutchman’s running will be vital to controlling the midfield.
Centre midfield: Jordan Henderson
The skipper will make all the difference in the middle, his world class influence will keep intensity high.
Right wing: Mo Salah
The Egyptian King was furious at being subbed at the weekend, he’ll be determined to earn the full 90 on Tuesday.
Left wing: Sadio Mane
Sadio hasn’t been in the best of form in the past week or so but we can rely on him in big games.
Striker: Roberto Firmino
The Brazilian showed flashes of his old brilliance on Saturday, we’re hoping for more of the same.
