Liverpool once again reaffirmed their title winning credentials with a resounding win over Leicester City this weekend. The Reds cruised to victory at Anfield with a couple of records broken along the way. Speaking to Match of the Day 2 after the game, Micah Richards was raving over Curtis Jones.

Libpool top ‘the league
The Reds are now joint top of the league on points after nine games.
Jürgen Klopp is tied with Jose Mourinho at the summit with Spurs edging into first place on goal difference.
The ascent came as a result of the resounding 3-0 win over Leicester City at Anfield.
The game saw the Reds extend their unbeaten run at home in the league to a club record 64 games.
Jonny Evans netted the Reds’ first, nodding into his own net after 21 minutes. Diogo Jota scored a header of his own 20 minutes later.
Roberto Firmino rounded off the scoring five minutes from time with a towering header.
Micah Richards on Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones started the game in centre midfield in the absence of Jordan Henderson and the Scouser rose to the occasion.
He was always looking to get on the ball and he was useful with it, rarely losing it and nearly always looking to be positive in possession.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Micah Richards was raving over Curtis Jones, saying:
“Curtis Jones was absolutely splendid today, he was given too much time, he was gaining confidence.”
What RTK has to say
The Scouser did himself proud this weekend.
He has been going under the radar somewhat this season, consistently putting in solid performances but this weekend was probably his first stand out showing.
Jones didn’t just hold his own on Sunday, he took the game to the opposition and showed just what he’s capable of, he deserves to keep his place in the side.
