Liverpool are having to make do at the minute. The Reds are having to move players about in order to plug gaps in the side caused by injuries. This weekend we could see an academy star step into the limelight. Trent Alexander-Arnold could switch into midfield if Neco Williams impresses in the coming weeks.

Liverpool injury crisis
In all my years of watching the Reds I’ve never seen anything like this.
Jürgen Klopp has seen over a dozen players lost to illness and injury this season.
At the minute the boss is without most of his back four. The German has seen Virgil van Dijk ruled out for the season with a ruptured ACL, whilst Joe Gomez is unlikely to play again after picking up a knee injury of his own.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is also absent due to injury with many expecting Neco Williams to step into the first team lineup as a result.
Alexander-Arnold centre midfield
Many fans and pundits have been campaigning for Trent Alexander-Arnold to step into centre midfield at some point in his career.
The Scouser’s vision and passing range make him an ideal candidate for the central role.
As of yet the boss hasn’t made the adjustment, preferring to keep the academy graduate at right back.
Neco Williams catalyst
Should Neco Williams start the next few games at right back in Trent’s absence then he could stake a claim for a regular starting berth.
The boss has always said that he picks his team on momentum, he won’t drop a man in form.
However, he wouldn’t want to waste the talents of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Given how many injuries we’ve seen in the midfield with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho pulling up with muscle problems, the gaffer could make use of Trent Alexander-Arnold in the midfield.
