Report: Liverpool target Adama Traore refuses new contract

The Reds are always linked with the most exciting footballers on the planet, it just comes with the territory. As a result we often get our hopes up over potential buys. We’ve been given further cause for optimism this week. The Express and Star has claimed Liverpool target Adama Traore has stalled on contract talks.

Alexander-Arnold on Adama Traore

Trent Alexander-Arnold would be as excited as anybody if Liverpool landed Adama Traore.

The Scouser recently told Goal about just how terrifying it is facing the Spanish winger, saying:

“It’s almost not human the way [Traore] can change direction and go. I’ve never felt so powerless against someone.

“People are faster than you, that’s inevitable, but you can get yourself in good positions, give yourself a head start and get yourself in the race.

“But with him, and with his power as well, there’s nothing you can really do.”

Liverpool target Adama Traore contract stalls

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Adama Traore for months now, most recently in October when Mundo Deportivo claimed the Reds were considering a move but Wolves would want £63.3m for the winger.

The move could be edging closer to a reality with The Express and Star reporting that contract talks between the player and his club have stalled.

Wolves are said to be negotiating an improved deal with the wide man in an effort to extend his contract.

However, the two parties have failed to come to an agreement as of yet.

At the minute Traore is tied to Wolves until 2023.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool signing Adama Traore would be a dream.

The winger has been devastating defences in recent years.

Sure his form can be streaky at times but Jürgen Klopp could soon coach that out of him.

At just 24-years-old he has plenty of time before he hits his peak and when he does, oh boy he’ll be difficult to defend against.

We could do with one more attacker in the squad, particularly when Divock Origi inevitably leaves the club.
