Best Liverpool lineup v Leicester City that we can hope for after injuries

Liverpool have had their season rocked by injuries. Jürgen Klopp has lost a procession of players to knocks and niggles with seemingly nobody safe from the scourge of fatigue (or the Everton squad). Given the numerous knocks we’ve dealt with in recent weeks, here is the best Liverpool lineup v Leicester City that we can hope for.

Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker

The Brazilian isn’t injured, praise the lord. He has been this season but as it stands he is fit to take on the Foxes.

Right back: Neco Williams

The Welshman is likely to step in for Trent Alexander-Arnold after the Scouser picked up a calf injury against Manchester City.

Centre back: Joel Matip

As long as the Cameroonian is wrapped in cotton wool between now and the visit from Brendan Rodgers’ side, he should be ok to play.

Centre back: Fabinho

Hopefully the Brazilian will be back to full fitness by the end of the international break, he’ll drop back into defence if so.

Left back: Andy Robertson

As long as Steve Clarke is reasonable then Andy Robertson should be fit to face Leicester City, we just need the Scotland boss to not run him into the ground.

Defensive midfield: Jordan Henderson

The skipper was withdrawn at halftime when England took on Belgium, as long as he is rested between now and the Leicester tie then he should be fit.

Defensive midfield: Thiago

The Spaniard has been absent for what feels like eternity, surely now is the time to see him return to the side? Surely he’s OK by now?

Right wing: Diogo Jota

The Portuguese star has been in fine form for the Reds this season, he’s nailed on to start in Mo Salah’s absence.

Attacking midfield: Xherdan Shaqiri

The Swiss international has impressed with his cameos this term, he should start in the hole v Leicester City.

Left wing: Sadio Mane

The Senegalese star has been a standout performer this season, he’s undroppable at the minute.

Striker: Roberto Firmino

Bobby hasn’t been enjoying the best of starts but with Mo Salah absent due to a positive COVID-19 test, the Brazilian star will likely keep his place in the side.
