Liverpool’s front three have earned a fearsome reputation in recent years. The trio have been terrorising defences the globe over, their telepathy and determination proving impossible to handle at times. They are so hard to handle that Reece James has named Sadio Mane as his toughest opponent.

Liverpool fans are lucky to have Sadio Mane.

He joined us from Southampton in 2016, arriving for a fee of £34m.

The Senegalese forward has since established himself as one of the world’s most feared wingers.

His direct running, creativity and dribbling ability have made him a nightmare to handle for defenders.

Whilst his finishing ability has been devastating goalkeepers.

Raphinha, Coutinho and Tielemans: The signings Liverpool could make this summer

Liverpool battered Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this season.

Jürgen Klopp’s side cruised to a 2-0 victory in West London, barely breaking a sweat as they suffocated the game.

Reece James was ran ragged by Sadio Mane in the fixture. He clearly appreciates the lesson he learned, saying:

“My toughest opponent has been Sadio Mane.

“He is one of the best wingers in the league, if not the world. He is strong, quick, good on the ball and one of the toughest to play against, and then you also have Andy Robertson on the outside.

“It used to be about defending but now it is about not only being very good at defending but offering a big attacking threat.”

What RTK has to say

I think many footballers out there would name Sadio as their toughest opponent.

The winger has been terrifying defences for years now, there’s surely al ong list of victims.

At the minute he looks like he’s getting better with each game, there’s no telling how good he’ll be in a year or two’s time.

Given the injury list we face at the moment, we’ll be expecting him to step up to the plate and continue to devastate defences.
