"How has he done that": Rio Ferdinand amazed by Sadio Mane

Liverpool put in one of their best recent performances this week. Jürgen Klopp’s men turned on the style as they decimated Italian side Atalanta. The Reds win put them top of their group with the maximum nine points from nine. Speaking after the game, BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand was amazed by Sadio Mane.

Liverpool blow away Atalanta

This week saw an unreal performance from the Reds.

We headed to Bergamo with some fans nervous. The Serie A side scored a record amount of goals last season and they were set to face a makeshift Liverpool defence.

Nerves were assuaged early on – Diogo Jota netted an exquisite Trent Alexander-Arnold pass after 16 minutes and the Portuguese adding a second before halftime.

Shortly after the resumption Mo Salah broke away and grabbed his own goal, Sadio Mane netting soon after. Diogo Jota completed his hattrick, and the scoring, after 55 minutes.

Rio Ferdinand on Sadio Mane

Speaking on BT Sport after the game, Rio Ferdinand was drooling over Sadio Mane.

The ex-Man United man was raving about the Reds’ forward after yet another impressive display from the winger. The retired defender told the show:

“Do you know what I like about [Mane]? He makes difficult situations look easy.

“He does that as well as anybody . Some of the things he does in the match, you think: ‘how has he done that and looked so calm and cool and collected in that situation? He’s my favourite.”

What RTK has to say

Rio Ferdinand has got it spot on with Sadio Mane.

The Senegalese wide man is surely one of the best football players in the werld. He has time and time again pulled out these performances where defences can’t get near him.

His ball control appears other worldly at times, his dribbling ability and turn of pace are a nightmare for opposition.

With a crucial game against Man City ahead this weekend, we will be hoping the forward can maintain his strong form.
