How bad can it get hey? Liverpool have had an unheard of run of injuries this season. Jürgen Klopp must be tearing his hair out at this. The Reds have seen their side devastated by niggles and knocks that just didn’t need to happen. The latest hammer blow has come during the international break. Plenty of Liverpool fans have reacted to the Joe Gomez injury asking why internationals are being played in the first place.
This season hasn’t been the best for the Reds fitness wise.
Jürgen Klopp has seen 13 first team stars ruled out with injury at one time or another.
Thiago has had a spell out with COVID and is now sidelined by an injury sustained during the Merseyside Derby.
Virgil van Dijk is out for the season with his own problem picked up against Everton.
There has also been a spell out for Alisson Becker, who was ruled out with a shoulder knock.
Joel Matip has spent some time on the treatment table, as has his stand in Fabinho.
The list goes on and on and has just gotten worse.
Joe Gomez injury
As if this season couldn’t get any worse, Liverpool have lost Joe Gomez to a serious injury.
The centre back picked up the knee issue whilst training with England and at the moment we don’t know the extent of the problem.
However, some reports, such as The Mirror, claim he could be out for the rest of the season.
This would leave Liverpool with just Joel Matip fit and he isn’t the most reliable when it comes to staying injury free.
Twitter reacts to Joe Gomez injury
One fan is fearing the worst.
Another is worried we could be down to the youngest players we have before long.
This supporter is ready to step up to the plate.
However, the overwhelming message is that internationals shouldn’t be going ahead in the first place.
