Harvey Elliott loan

Over the summer there was no indication that Havey Elliott would be heading out on loan this summer.

Instead he was tipped to play in the cups and occasionally back up the first team in case of injuries.

However, the Reds were knocked out of the EFL Cup early on and Xherdan Shaqiri remained at the club, limiting the opportunities that the teenager would have had at Anfield.

On deadline day a deal was struck to take Harvey Elliott to Blackburn Rovers on loan for the season.

What RTK has to say

Harvey Elliott has been in red hot form in the Championship and this assist is a continuation of that form.

The 17-year-old has been dazzling fans and pundits alike with the way he’s taken to life in the second tier.

If this is how good he is after just six games in one of the most physically demanding leagues in the world then who knows just how good he’ll be in a few years time.

Personally, I cannot wait to see how he matures in the game. He is a potential superstar.
