Liverpool have had awful luck with injuries this season. Despite this bad luck, the Reds have pulled ahead into first place in the Premier League and in their Champions League group. The club’s bad luck with fitness has extended into the academy. Harvey Elliott, Ki-Jana Hoever and fans have sent messages to Elijah Dixon-Bonner after he picked up an injury.

Elijah Dixon-Bonner
19-year-old playmaker Elijah Dixon-Bonner joined the Reds academy in 2015.
The midfielder joined from Arsenal having been with the North London side since U9 level.
In February 2018 the teenager signed his first professional contract with the club having impressed under Steven Gerrard for the U18s side.
Last season the youngster was moved up to the U23s side, having scored in the penalty shootout which won the Reds the FA Youth Cup in 2018/19.
Dixon-Bonner injury
Elijah Dixon-Bonner has revealed on social media that he has picked up an injury which will rule him out ‘for a while’.
The teenager’s knock is unclear, the player hasn’t offered any details and the club hasn’t commented.
We’ll be hoping that the issue isn’t a recurrence of the knee injury which ruled him out for a while from February of this year.
At this stage in his career any lengthy spell out can be a real roadblock in his development.
Stars and fans react
Commenting on Dixon-Bonner’s Instagram post, Harvey Elliott told the midfielder “Come back stronger my g” with a heart emoji.
Paul Glatzel joined in, commenting “You’ll be back stronger than ever”.
Former Reds’ academy star Ki-Jana Hoever also sent well wishes, commenting a pair of hearts on the post.
A number of fans on Twitter sent their own heartfelt messages after learning of the knock.
