For Jürgen Klopp, three points at the Etihad would put him eight points clear of Pep Guardiola, though his Spanish counterpart would still have a game in hand.
Impotent Man City
Manchester City last scored more than one goal in a Premier League game in September and they lost that game 5-2 at home to Leicester City.
The only other game this season when the Citizens scored more than once in the league was their opening game, a 3-1 win over Wolves.
October saw a 1-1 draw with Leeds United, a 1-1 draw with West Ham United and 1-0 wins over Arsenal and Sheffield United.
Pep Guardiola’s side are having real trouble finding the net in the league.

This formation wouldn’t just add defensive stability when playing away against Pep Guardiola but the tactic would allow the boss to field his new ‘Fab Four’.
Starting Diogo Jota, Mo Salah, Bobby Firmino and Sadio Mane would help the Reds create and finish chances a plenty.
Given the opponent’s struggles in front of goal, scoring two or three at the weekend should be enough to win it for Liverpool.
