Perr Schuurs Past

Kopites with a good memory will remember Perr Schuurs.

The 20-year-old centre back was taken on trial at Anfield when he was 17, the club running the rule over him when he was at Dutch second division side Fortuna Sittard.

At just 17-years-old he was captaining the second tier side and was attracting interest from across Europe. Eventually the then teenager was snapped up by Dutch giants Ajax.

Perr Schuurs present

Now 20-years-old, Perr Schuurs is a mainstay in the Ajax defence.

Following the sale of Matthijs de Ligt to Juventus, the youngster has been steadily blooded into the first team set up in Amsterdam.

He has started nine games for the Eredivisie side this season, including an impressive performance against Liverpool in the Champions League.

Perr Schuurs future

The Mirror has linked Liverpool with a move for Perr Schuurs.

The Dutchman is reportedly being considered for a January move as the Reds look to bolster the defensive ranks following the season long sidelining of Virgil van Dijk.

At 20-years-old he fits the profile age wise but he will also be enticing for Liverpool given his passing range and aerial ability.

Kopites have been excited by the links given how impressive he was in the Champions League against the Reds.

He has well over a decade left in the game – he could prove an astute signing should he be brought in for a sensible price.
