Liverpool have got to make a move in January. The Reds are desperate for reinforcements in defence, at the minute Jürgen Klopp is down to just one recognised centre back in the senior side. Just who will come in in January is anybody’s guess. The latest rumour, from The Mirror, is that Liverpool are tracking Perr Schuurs of Ajax.
Who is Perr Schuurs?
Kopites should be well aware of who Perr Schuurs is after the Dutchman put in a superlative performance against the Reds on the opening day of the Champions League season.
The 20-year-old centre back plays in the middle of defence for Ajax. He was signed from second tier Fortuna Sittard, where he was captain at just 17-years-old.
Liverpool have been aware of Perr Schuurs for some time, he was taken on trial by the club when he was 17, though, according to The Mirror, the Reds decided to monitor him as he developed in the Netherlands.

Jürgen Klopp needs a new centre back given the lack of depth in the first team and it is thought that Schuurs could be the ideal man to come in.
The report claims that Liverpool could move for Perr Schuurs as early as January given the mounting interest in the defender from elsewhere.
What RTK has to say
Given that he is 6ft 3in tall, is composed on the ball, has an impressive passing range and is just 20-years-old, Liverpool signing the youngster makes an incredible amount of sense.
Young defenders with plenty of promise and plenty of first team experience are at a premium, it was thought that Dayot Upamecano was the front runner in this respect.
However, the Reds could well decide to go Dutch if the finances involved stand up – he would certainly offer more of an aerial presence than Upamecano, given that the next defender is likely to be a long term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, this would mean a lot when weighing up options.
