Liverpool have a squad set to stick together for the years to come. The Reds expertly assembled a squad which will age together and which, as a result, has a few more years before it needs an overhaul. One of the key stars of the squad has given Kopites reason to be excited – Fabinho has hinted at a new Liverpool contract in the future.

Liverpool signed Fabinho with minimal fuss, it was a move which took us all off guard.
The Reds had just been defeated by Real Madrid in the Champions League final, a match which will live in infamy as the Karius Final.
Three days after the sickening loss, Liverpool announced the signing of Fabinho for £43.7m, joining the Reds from Monaco after he was linked with a move to Manchester United for months on end.
The Brazilian has since become an integral part of the squad at Anfield. He has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and has recently been filling in in defence when needed.
Fabinho hints at contract extension
Speaking to UOL in Brazil, Fabinho has hinted at a contract extension in the future.
The midfielder was asked by the outlet about his recent shift in positions and what the next few seasons hold, he revealed:
“I have this [season] and two more years of contract. I intend to fulfil these three years and soon see if there is a renewal or not, but my focus today is on Liverpool and I am very happy here.
“I am in a league that is very good to play, very competitive, when you play here you do not want to leave.”
“Liverpool have grown a lot in recent years, we have a strong team that has everything to continue like this and what we are achieving with this group has entered history. We can do more and more and I want to be part of that.”

Thank goodness.
It would be a nightmare to lose Fabinho, even if his contract expiry is some years down the line, the thought of him leaving us one day is heartbreaking.
As he has said, he has no reason to leave. He is an integral part of one of the most fearsome sides in world football, he is enjoying his footy and he wants to be part of our inevitable forthcoming success.
Fingers crossed we see an extension announced sooner rather than later, we could do with some good news.
