Liverpool having luck with injuries last season was a myth. The Reds just coped fantastically when key stars were ruled out. We have been dealt a cruel injury blow this season, one sure to dispel the myth. Jürgen Klopp has delivered a Liverpool injury update on four players and thankfully it is excellent news.
Thiago injury update
This weekend Thiago was victim of a horrible challenge from the thuggish, petulant Richarlison.
The Brazilian lashed out and was lucky not to break the Spaniard’s leg with his tackle.
Jürgen Klopp delivered a Thiago injury update which will be music to the ears of Kopites.
The boss hinted that the midfielder could well be fit to face Ajax, saying “will he be ready for Wednesday? I don’t know yet. We will see.”

Naby Keita injury update
Well, Keita wasn’t so much injured as he had tested positive for COVID-19.
The Guinean midfielder has since tested negative and has been allowed to return to training, opening up the possibility of his participation against Ajax.
Jürgen told us of the midfielder’s fitness: “Naby trained yesterday, so that’s very positive…In the moment, I would probably rather expect him to be involved [against Ajax] but I don’t know it.”
Alisson Becker injury update
Kopites have been sweating on an Alisson injury update with the Reds’ keeper particularly missed now that we are without Virgil van Dijk.
The keeper appears to be getting over the shoulder injury which has seen him miss the last two Premier League games.
Klopp was positive about the goalie’s recovery, “Ali looks very good. We have to see; catching balls and stuff like this is all possible. But we cannot rush it and will not rush it.”
Oxlade-Chamberlain injury update
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been absent since picking up a knee injury in pre-season.
The English midfielder has had a torrid time with injuries since moving to Liverpool but he has always impressed when he’s managed to put together a string of appearances.
Jürgen was positive about the ex-Arsenal man’s progress, saying: “Oxlade is obviously in a long-term rehab, but looks good and is in a good mood usually.”
What RTK has to say
Kopites will be buzzing to hear of Alisson’s progress.
Thiago being in contention for the Champions League tie with Ajax is also a huge boost.
Fingers crossed we will see the Spaniard alongside Naby Keita for the first time.
Although there’s no return date in sight for the Ox we’ll be excited to have him back, he always provides a spark.
