Jurgen Klopp certainly sounds encouraged as he offered an injury update on Alisson Becker. The goalkeeper has been out for a few weeks now.
Alisson Becker hasn’t played since suffering an injury ahead of the Aston Villa disaster. With everything currently going on, it’s vital for Liverpool that he’s back soon.
And so Jurgen Klopp’s latest update should put a smile on the fans’ faces – it’s certainly an encouraging one.
“Ali looks very good,” he said, per Liverpoolfc.com. “We have to see. Catching balls and stuff like this is all possible. But we cannot rush it and will not rush it.
“Actually, it’s a common thing every day when I see Ali, I say: ‘How was it today?’ He always with a big smile tells me of the slight improvements. Today I didn’t see him [yet], so I can’t wait to ask for his progress!”

What RTK has to say
Virgil van Dijk could well miss the rest of the season so getting Alisson back ASAP is tempting. But as Klopp says, they can’t afford to rush it.
The last thing Liverpool need, after all, is Alisson rushing back and aggravating his injury. Then you end up without your two best defensive players for most of the season.
But this update is still a great one to hear. It sounds as though Alisson is firmly on a positive path with it all and that he’ll be back before long.
Liverpool will almost certainly have their eyes on the meeting with Manchester City at the start of next month. That promises to be one of the biggest games of the season. Fingers crossed Alisson can make it for that one.
