Thiago hasn’t suffered an injury as bad as first feared, according to reports. The Spaniard will miss Ajax v Liverpool, however.
The Liverpool Echo offered an update on the injury Thiago suffered against Everton on Saturday. A nasty challenge from Richarlison late in the game earned the Brazilian a red card and brought about worries that Thiago might be out long-term.

The Echo, however, reports that the Spaniard should be okay. He’s not totally fine, though, and Thiago won’t play against Ajax this week.
But Liverpool don’t expect the injury to be serious. They’ll leave him out of their travelling squad in midweek and then judge his recovery after that.
What RTK has to say
This is certainly good news after the update on Virgil van Dijk. The club announced that the Dutchman will undergo surgery on his knee, potentially ruling him out for some time.
It was natural to worry that Thiago would suffer a similar fate, then. He too has a knee injury, sustained in a very similar way. Being without one long-term is awful news but both would have been an absolute disaster.
Thiago should be back before long, though, and Liverpool will need him. They’ll want all their best and most experienced players fit every single week now, as they look to cope without Van Dijk.

Thiago, as a composed midfielder is near the top of that list. As they will suffer a confidence drop, having players who can control the game will be imperative.
He’s not the only one they’ll need around, though, and you can see three players we believe Liverpool will rely on here.
