Liverpool have made some ambitious moves in the transfer market in recent windows. We have seen the Reds bring in Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk to completely transform the side. Most recently Michael Edwards brought in one of the world’s best midfielders in Thiago. Perhaps the Reds most ambitious target to date may just escape their grasp, according to Bernabeu insider, Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe has already decided to join Real Madrid.
Liverpool target Mbappe
L’Equipe claimed this week that Liverpool are in regular contact with the Kylian Mbappe camp.
The outlet reported that the Reds are looking to convince the Frenchman to join the Anfield outfit in the summer.
According to the newspaper, Liverpool could sign Mbappe for just £91m next summer as the youngster will be entering the final year of his contract and PSG will want to avoid losing the player on a free transfer.
Given how valuable the striker is it would be a disaster for the Parisians to lose him for nothing.
Mbappe wants Madrid move
The Reds aren’t the only side chasing the French phenomenon.
According to Bernabeu legend and insider Paco Buyo, who won six league titles for Los Blancos, the PSG forward has already decided to move to the Spanish capital.
Buyo told outlet El Chiringuito: “It looks like Liverpool are also interested, but I believe Mbappe has already made his decision [to join Madrid].
“Will it be next summer? We will see if he expects to end the contract. I do not know if he can handle the pressure or if he will accept any millionaire proposal that PSG will present to him.”
What RTK has to say
If there’s one team that could stop the Reds from landing the striker then it is Real Madrid.
Should the Frenchman move to the Premier League then Anfield is surely the most likely destination given the club’s status in the game at the minute and the praise the World Cup winner has lavished on the Reds recently.
In La Liga, Barcelona is no longer too attractive a prospect given the turmoil the club find themselves in.
Real Madrid, however, have deep pockets. Very deep pockets.
Fingers crossed Liverpool manage to sign Mbappe ahead of Madrid, it would be a decade defining transfer.
