Liverpool sign Thiago

Liverpool signing Thiago seemed to take an eternity. In the words of John Green, it seemed to happen slowly then all at once.

The Reds had been linked with the Spaniard throughout the summer. Alcantara had purportedly told Bayern Munich that he was unwilling to sign a new contract as he entered the final year of his stay at the Allianz.

This opened the door for Michael Edwards to negotiate a cut price deal for Thiago and that is precisely what he did.

Liverpool signed Thiago for £20m plus £5m in bonuses and Kopites went wild.
