This past week has been a great week to be a Kopite. The Reds pulled off two magnificent signings and beat the old enemy Chelsea in their own backyard. The supposed title contenders were dealt with with ease, the lads never even got out of second gear on their way to a 2-0 win. Twitter has reacted to the record breaking Thiago debut for Liverpool.
Liverpool sign Thiago
All summer the Reds were linked with a move for Bayern Munich’s star midfielder.
The Spaniard purportedly told the Bavarian giants that he was unwilling to sign a new deal as he entered the final year of his contract.
This opened the door for Michael Edwards to secure a signing at a bargain price and that is just what he did.
Liverpool signed Thiago Alcantara for just £20m plus £5m in bonuses, a steal of a transfer.
Just two days after signing for the club, Thiago was named in the matchday squad to face Chelsea.
The Reds journeyed to West London to face a side supposedly set to challenge for the title.
However, the visitors won the game without ever getting out of second gear, easing to a 2-0 victory.
Thiago made his Liverpool debut, coming on at halftime with the hosts down to 10 men.
The Spaniard went on to break the record for most successful passes by a player playing 45 minutes or less, completing 75 passes in the second half.

His ability to slot straight into the side was impressive.
So, Thiago played like he did today – albeit against a 10-man Chelsea – without having done a single training with the squad – and Klopp confirmed to LFCTV afterwards that he didn’t get any instructions other than “play your game”.
What a maestro.

As such, he may not need the same bedding in period as other players.
Got a feeling he’s not gonna need the usual Klopp ‘5-6 months integration’ period. He just oozes class.
