This summer Liverpool have brought in a few new faces to the club. The Reds have signed a backup left back, an exciting young forward and an elite, world class midfield. There was meant to be no money in the pot, hence why people are now wondering whether or not there’ll be departures from the club. According to James Pearce, there is ‘zero chance’ of Liverpool selling Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain during this window.
Wolves interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain
According to a report in The Mirror, Wolves are interested in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Midlands side have already shopped at Anfield this summer having bought Ki-Jana Hoever from the Reds in the last week.
The move came in tandem with Jürgen Klopp buying Diogo Jota from Wolves.
The Ox, who joined from Arsenal for £35m in 2017, would add attacking impetus to Nuno Espirito Santo’s midfield.
Liverpool not selling Oxlade-Chamberlain
Despite the interest from Wolves, Liverpool won’t be selling Oxlade-Chamberlain.
This development comes courtesy of trusted journalist James Pearce, who tweeted that there is ‘zero chance’ of him leaving during this window.
The reporter has claimed that he is still a key part of the boss’ plans for the year ahead.
What RTK has to say
It is reassuring to hear that Jürgen Klopp still has faith in The Ox.
We have seen him produce real moments of quality in the past few years, the only issue has been that these moments have been few and far between due to his injury struggles.
When he gets a run of games he can be a vital cog in the pressing machine and can be that player to beat his man in the transition.
Fingers crossed we see him back at his best this season.
