Liverpool have been busy bees in the past week. The Reds have stunned us all with a couple of decisive moves. Jürgen Klopp has added an elite midfielder to his roster as well as an exciting young forward. There has been numerous reports of another new arrival in defence, however, James Pearce has claimed that Liverpool have decided on no more incoming transfers during this window.

No money in the pot

The boss told us all summer that there was no money to be spent, consistently warning us against getting excited about new arrivals that the club couldn’t afford.

Then the club pulled off one of the most anticipated signings of recent times, bring Thiago in from Bayern Munich.

A day later it was confirmed that the club had splashed out on Diogo Jota from Wolves, a signing that took us all by surprise.

There has since been rumours that the Reds would bid for Ozan Kabak of Schalke as a replacement for Dejan Lovren.

No more Liverpool transfers

James Pearce has tweeted that Liverpool won’t have anymore incoming transfers during this window.

The respected Reds journalist is typically on the money with this sort of thing.

Pearce also claims that this weekend’s display strengthened the club’s belief in Fabinho at centre back.

Fabinho at Chelsea

There had been a lot of talk about Fabinho being the club’s fourth choice centre back this season.

The holding player had a blinder whilst playing alongside Virgil van Dijk at Stamford Bridge.

Fabby was drafted into the defence with Joe Gomez and Joel Matip out injured.

In 90 minutes he showed us that there is no need to splash out on a new defender, he put in an almighty performance, pocketing Timo Werner.

Given that Thiago has arrived in midfield there is more options open to the gaffer, if Fabby needs to drop into the defence then Thiago can take up the holding role.

No more Liverpool transfers is the right call.
