The Reds have been on a mad one this week. Liverpool have completed the signing of Thiago Alcantara and seem set to confirm the purchase of Diogo Jota today. Even though he’s barely been at the club a day, Thiago seems to already have his own song ready to be sung on the Kop.
Liverpool sign Thiago
After months and months of waiting, Liverpool have finally signed thiago.
The Spaniard was entering the final year of his contract at Bayern Munich and had purportedly told the German giants he was unwilling to sign a new deal.
This left the door open for Jürgen Klopp to swoop in and convince the playmaker that his future lies at Anfield.
Liverpool managed to sign Thiago for just £20m plus £5m in bonuses, paying just £5m a season for four years.
New Thiago song
As soon as it was reported that Liverpool had made their move for the Spaniard, fan accounts were coming up with ditties for the midfielder.
One won out above the rest, the singing of Thiago Alcantara to the tune of Cuba by the Gibson Brothers.
The Spaniard even whistled the tune in an announcement video.
Then footage later emerged of him being shown the song for the first time, it gave him a boost to say the least.
What RTK has to say
We don’t half get these songs figured out quick do we.
Catch me growling this one at the top of my lungs after the little magician chips one over the Man City defence for Mo Salah to net his hat-trick.
The club have also exhibited a remarkable ability to be in touch with the fans by getting him to whistle the tune in his announcement.
