"I am sure": Didi Hamann convinced Liverpool will pull off Thiago signing

Death, taxes, Liverpool being linked with Thiago – the only certainties of life. This entire summer has just been one big exercise in how often can one club be linked with one player without any sort of solid announcement. We have received another instalment to the saga, a promising instalment for Kopites – Didi Hamann has said that he is sure Liverpool will sign Thiago this summer.

Liverpool and Thiago

All summer there have been reports of Liverpool imminently signing Thiago.

For those that have been under a rock – we wouldn’t blame you given the circumstances – here’s what has happened: the midfielder is entering the final year of his contract and has purportedly told Bayern Munich that he doesn’t want to extend.

The Reds have subsequently been linked time and time again – RMC Sport even claimed that Jürgen Klopp’s side have agreed a four-year-deal with the playmaker and that he has told his teammates he’s heading to Anfield.

Fans and pundits alike are excited by the rumours, Rio Ferdinand referred to the move as a ‘dream signing‘.

However, nothing solid has come out about the supposed deal.

Hamann emphatic

Christian Falk has reported that Didi Hamann is “sure” that Liverpool will sign Thiago this summer.

The retired German footballer enjoyed a successful spell at Liverpool.

Many Kopites will remember how Hamann changed the game when he came on at halftime when the Reds were 3-0 down to AC Milan in Istanbul.

He is still remembered fondly, fans will take heart from him being so emphatic in his assessment.

What RTK has to say

Surely this is just a matter of time now.

Reliable journalist Constantin Eckner has claimed that Liverpool and Thiago already have a deal but the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement on the fee.

The two sides are allegedly €5m apart with their valuations.

Fingers crossed this one gets wrapped up soon because I’m not sure how much more we can take of this – quit teasing us with dreams of the little magician spraying passes forward from deep in the Liverpool midfield.
