How much longer can this go on for? Seriously. How much longer can we live in limbo, wondering whether or not Kopites will be treated to watching one of the finest playmakers of his generation don the famous red shirt? Today has seen another, potentially decisive, instalment of the Liverpool and Thiago Alcantara show. According to reports in France, Liverpool have agreed a 4-year-deal with Thiago.
This year’s saga
Liverpool have been linked with Thiago for what feels like eternity now. He is one of the most exciting transfer prospects we have seen in recent seasons.
Of course, we have been linked with Kylian Mbappe and Jadon Sancho in previous years but neither target ever appeared to be in our price range – Alcantara, however, is.
This week David Ornstein put a dampener on any excitement when he claimed we wouldn’t get near Bayern’s valuation, though we have cause to get our hopes up again now.
Liverpool agree Thiago deal
According to Mohamed Bouhafsi, chief editor of RMC Sport in France, Liverpool have agreed a four-year-deal with Thiago.
The journo also claimed that the Spaniard has told some of his teammates that he is leaving and has found a house to move to.
All that is left now is for the Reds and Bayern to finalise a deal for the playmaker.
Is it finally on?
We have been hurt before, we have seen this kind of report before. But. Is this it?
We think it could be. Bouhafsi is a reliable journalist, the Reds may well have finalised a contract with the Spaniard.
However, we still have the same stumbling block: agreeing a fee. Whether or not the Reds can finalise a deal with Bayern Munich is another matter entirely.
