Lyon are open to selling Houssem Aouar this summer, according to reports. He’s a player that Liverpool supposedly gave up on in recent weeks.
L’Equipe claim that Lyon will move on some top talents soon. Three really stand out – one potentially very relevant to Liverpool, too.
Two of Memphis Depay, Moussa Dembele and Aouar could leave the club as they intend to build around new players like Bruno Guimaraes.
Aouar is an interesting one, in particular. The 21-year-old is a very talented midfielder and one who Liverpool supposedly wanted to sign this summer.
That’s according to the Mirror, who believes Liverpool have their plans on hold right now. If this were a normal summer, however, Aouar would be a principal target at around £40m.

What RTK has to say
We’ve said before that Aouar would be a great signing. We think he’d be a wonderful alternative to Kai Havertz, for instance. In that respect, this is a very interesting story.
Could this reboot Liverpool’s interest? Possibly but it depends on two things. Firstly, Liverpool’s initial interest – is Aouar a player they’d take a risk for?
But it also comes down to Lyon’s desire to negotiate. Lyon have plans that only work with sales and that means they’ll listen to offers for Aouar.
They’re only looking to sell two of the three stars and thus may not budge too much on their initial asking price.
Should Liverpool move quickly for Aouar, though, perhaps they could get a cut-price deal? They certainly wouldn’t if Depay and Dembele have moved on but the Reds could take advantage of being first in line.
And perhaps that would be enough to get Liverpool’s initial plan back up and running.
