Victor Osimhen will discuss his future with Lille over the next two weeks, according to reports. Claims say Liverpool want the young forward.
La Voix Du Nord says that Osimhen will talk his future over with Lille. Any decision should come in the next two weeks, then.
The article makes two other things clear. Firstly, the player doesn’t want to go to Italy, despite an apparent option to. Secondly, Lille will only sell their forwards if an offer is impossible to refuse.
The outlet feels that English teams are more capable of that than others. And it just so happens that Liverpool supposedly want Osimhen.
Le10Sport recently claimed that the Reds were in discussions with Lille over the Nigerian. The stumbling block, however, is the supposed asking price – up to as much as £70m.
Osimhen’s discussions with Lille could change that, of course, should the player try and force a move.
What RTK has to say
You can read our initial thoughts on this one here, after Le10Sport’s initial report. It mostly still stands, too – Osimhen looks like a very exciting if expensive, talent and Liverpool could work wonders with him.
It’s worth noting that another recent report from the Independent does claim that Liverpool will be cautious with transfers. They don’t say the Reds won’t move at all but they won’t want to take too many risks.
At £70m, Osimhen is definitely a big risk. The potential there is huge but right now, that doesn’t fit in with Liverpool’s reported policy.
Should discussions with Lille change that price, however, we’d like to see the Reds at the front of the queue.
