Liverpool reportedly want Lille striker Victor Osimhen this summer. They’re not the only ones after the Nigerian, however.
French outlet Le10Sport claim that Liverpool want Osimhen. The Reds apparently opened discussions with Lille as their position on the transfer has changed ‘considerably’ in recent times.
But Liverpool aren’t the only ones hovering around, apparently. Chelsea and Manchester United both want Osimhen, although Le10Sport don’t believe they’d got to the discussion stage.
There’s a stumbling block, of course. Lille supposedly want at least £61m for Omishen and possibly closer to £70m.
So what would you get for that £61m? Omishen is a 21-year-old, 6ft1 striker who joined Lille last summer from Belgian side Charleroi. He’s had a brilliant first season, too.

The Nigerian 18 goals in 38 games before the break, helping Lille to fourth in Ligue 1. His 13 league goals are good enough for joint-fourth in the league, too. Only Wissam Ben Yedder, Kylian Mbappe and Moussa Dembele can better that.
What RTK has to say
This is quite an interesting one. It’s a lot of money for a player who hasn’t even managed one season in a top league, that’s for certain. But he still ticks a lot of boxes for Liverpool.
The Reds could certainly use a striker, for one. Current backup Divock Origi just hasn’t looked good this season and he’s the only true no.9 at the club.
In fact, you can make some comparisons with Origi. There’s the obvious one – both from the same club, with Liverpool signing Origi from Lille back in 2014.
They’re both out-and-out strikers, too, as well as being the same height. But one thing Osimhen does have over Origi is his goal record.
The Belgian has never actually managed 18 goals in a season. His personal best is actually 11 in all competitions – that’s two below Osimhen’s league goal tally, let alone his 18 overall.
At at just 21, you’ve got to imagine that Jurgen Klopp could work wonders with Osimhen at Liverpool. So it would be an expensive deal but it might be one that’s well worth visiting.
