Liverpool are in the process of building a team for the ages. At the minute they are already sweeping aside all before them with the squad them have assembled, with the first team all tied down to long term contracts we can expect moves in the near future to be geared towards younger players that can provide depth and variety. According to Corriere dello Sport in Italy, Liverpool are chasing Ferran Torres of Valencia.
Torres has been building quite a reputation for himself in Spain.
In La Liga he has bagged four goals and four assists in 20 starts and five substitute appearances this season.
The Champions League has seen the best of his form this campaign with two goals and two assists in five starts and one appearance off the bench, earning an average rating of 7.47 from WhoScored.
The Spaniard only recently turned 20-years-old, making his impressive performances this season even more noteworthy.
The youngster plays predominantly on the right wing but has also filled in on the left and as a striker when needed.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool are one of a number of sides tracking Ferran Torres.
The wonderkid is said to have a release clause of €100m but with his contract expiring in 2021, The Reds could nab him on a free if he hasn’t negotiated a new deal by next January.
What RTK has to say
This kid has talent.
Having watched him in the Champions League, he is absolutely mustard.
His eye for a pass is impressive, as is his dribbling ability and strength in the air.
Torres is certain to have a bright future, we need to stay among the chasing pack. Although his release clause is €100m we could test the waters with a much lower offer given that Valencia risk losing him on a free in 2021.
Fingers crossed we come out on top in this one, we don’t want to be facing him in a few years time.
