The Reds have become the envy of the footballing world when it comes to transfer dealings. Michael Edwards has established himself as the wheeler dealer supreme, putting shame to Harry Redknapp’s Range Rover window antics. We could be set to see another masterstroke from the director this summer, Liverpool can make £5m profit by signing Timo Werner and selling Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic.
FSG has made Liverpool one of the most admired sporting operations in the world.
The club are dominating football and doing so sustainably, The Reds have a miniscule net spend in comparison to those around them in the league table.
Michael Edwards has been unafraid to sell off our best players if he is confident he can use the money wisely, just look at how Philippe Coutinho helped fund moves for Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker.
We are likely to see Edwards at his best this summer. According to The Liverpool ECHO, Liverpool are intent on bringing in Timo Werner for £50m.
The Express has claimed that Michael Edwards will raise £30m from the sale of Harry Wilson and £25m from selling Marko Grujic.
What RTK has to say
Making £5m profit on signing Timo Werner and offloading Wilson and Grujic would be a masterstroke.
However, we need to make sure we insert some sort of buyback and/or sell on clause in each sale.
Wilson and Grujic are both incredibly talented players, the issue is that they won’t be able to get the first team football that they need at Liverpool.
It is in everybody’s interest to let them go, if we make sure that we stand to profit if they do reach their potential, or we can bring them back if they do, then this could be a piece of genius from Edwards.
