This summer will definitely see Liverpool reinforce their attack. The Reds have money to burn thanks to nifty commercial deals and recent restraint in the transfer market, new kit suppliers Nike will also be expecting a big move in order to shift some shirts. The latest report from Bild claims that Liverpool may sign Timo Werner then loan him straight back to RB Leipzig.
The Reds have been linked with Werner since the start of time.
The German forward has been banging them in all season in the German Bundesliga, he’s netted 21 in the league so far, bagging seven assists along the way.
In the Champions League the striker has bagged four goals and an assist during his side’s impressive campaign that has them in pole position to reach the quarter finals.
With Jürgen Klopp strongly tipped to bring the 24-year-old in over the summer, Bild has now suggested that Liverpool could bring Werner in and loan him back to RB Leipzig, much like they did with Naby Keita.
Liverpool fans have been confused by the rumour to say the least.
This Kopite referred to the rumour as ‘farcical’, insisting that we need a fourth attacking option next season.
Seriously signing Werner and sending him on a 12 month loan back to Leipzig would be farcical, we need to freshen up squad for next season and clearly need a 4th attacking option, if he isn’t coming in next season someone else has to

One fan said that it wouldn’t make sense and the striker wouldn’t agree to it.
Signing Timo Werner only to loan him back to RB Leipzig makes no sense and has to be made up.
He’s already top class and we need more firepower in attack for next season so what sense does loaning him back make?
Werner definitely wouldn’t agree to it either.

To put it simply…

This supporter pointed out that we’ll need the forward when Sadio Mane and Mo Salah head off to the AFCON.
Would be stupid to do it when we lose Mane and Salah because of Afcon

Whilst one fan suggested that this would point towards another addition and a subsequent departure the season after.
If do we sign Werner and loan him back out to Leipzig for a season, I just wonder if that means we’ll get Sancho too.
Then when Werner comes in next year, one of the front-three moves on.

Thankfully, Michael Edwards hasn’t got much wrong, we’ll trust him whatever happens.
I’ve just hit a Trust the process zone when it comes to #LFC transfers.
