This summer there are a few certainties: Liverpool will be Premier League champions, Adam Lallana will leave the club and The Reds will sign a striker. Jürgen Klopp has been long linked with a number of finishers but Timo Werner remains the favourite. Reported Liverpool target Carlos Vinicius has told Record in Portugal that he is ‘happy’ with rumours linking him with Anfield.
Vinicius has been having the season of his life at Benfica.
The Brazilian forward has netted 15 goals in the league, making 14 starts and eight appearances from the bench, bagging four assists along the way.
The 24-year-old is a lethal finisher with an eye for a through ball. He also boasts an aerial threat clocking in around six foot two inches.
Vinicius also poses a threat on the counter thanks to his pace and decision making ability.
O Jogo in Portugal were the first to report that Liverpool are tracking Carlos Vinicius.
Speaking to Record, the Benfica forward confessed that he is ‘happy’ with the links to Anfield as it is a ‘result of the daily sweat’.
What RTK has to say
Who wouldn’t be happy to be linked with The Reds?
Joining Jürgen Klopp’s current side must be an ambition for many players around the world, it is a side looking to go down in history as one of the greats.
However, we are doubtful that the Brazilian forward is a priority ahead of the signing of Timo Werner. Liverpool don’t need to splash out on two major striker signings, if we do sign another forward in addition to Werner we would expect the second striker to be much cheaper.
