Liverpool have lost! The Reds have tasted defeat in the league for the first time in 44 games. We need to make some signings immediately before this becomes a habit. Quick. Panic buy. Ok, we’re kidding. Nonetheless, Liverpool have been linked with a move for Gent’s Jonathan David – he could go some way to providing a solid plan B for games like Watford defeat.

David currently plays as a striker for Belgian side Gent.
The 20-year-old is a Canadian national and incredibly versatile. Whilst he plays most of his football up top for the Belgians, he has also appeared in central and attacking midfield this season.
His record in the Jupiler League this season is impressive to say the least, he has scored 18 goals in 22 starts this campaign.
Despite his best efforts, David’s side lie in second, nine points behind Club Brugge in first.
According to a report in The Express, Liverpool are among a host of sides keeping an eye on Jonathan David.
The paper claims that Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs are also monitoring the striker, with a fee of £20m mooted.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool will nearly certainly sign a striker over the summer.
The last few matches have shown that The Reds need a plan B up top as well as competition for their front three.
As brilliant as they are we can’t let our attacking trio rest on their laurels.
David would certainly match a number of criteria for the Liverpool transfers team: he is young, versatile and relatively inexpensive.
Whilst Timo Werner would of course be the first choice target, we wouldn’t be surprised if David also arrived at Anfield, he shouldn’t cost too much and his youth gives him years to pay off the £20m.
