This Monday night Liverpool earned a hard fought victory over West Ham United at Anfield. The Reds had to come from behind to beat the struggling East London side but beat them they did. Footage of Jürgen Klopp in the tunnel after the game has summed up the mentality at Anfield.
In a topsy turvy game we saw Gini Wijnaldum head in to put the hosts ahead before the Hammers equalised with a header of their own.
After half time, Pablo Fornals swept the ball past Alisson Becker to put David Moyes’ side in the lead.
Thankfully the Kop sucked the ball in twice, with Mo Salah’s shot squirming through Lukasz Fabianski, and Sadio Mane tapping in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s square ball.
Liverpool’s latest Inside Anfield video features footage of Jürgen Klopp in the tunnel following the win over West Ham.
As the boss heads to the home dressing room he can be seen dishing out hugs and high fives to everybody in sight – even the camera operator. Roberto Firmino follows the gaffer, giving the camera a pat on the lens with delight.
The fact that the boss doesn’t miss a Red soul out on his way to the dressing room, even breaking the sacred rule of ignoring the fly-on-the-wall camera operator, sums up the mentality at Anfield at the minute.
Every player on the pitch knows their role and carries it out with determination and discipline, it is a team effort and that extends to off the field staff, as recognised by the gaffer as he heads back to the dressing room.
One of the key differences at Liverpool under Klopp has been the alignment of all involved with The Reds.
For the first time in what seems like forever – the fans, the owners, the players, the coaches, even the camera operators are all on the same page and pulling in the same direction.
This united front has been critical to the club’s success, long may it continue.
