This summer could be a defining one in Liverpool’s history. With the club miles ahead of the pack in the Premier League, how the club spend their spoils of victory could determine whether or not they embark on an era of dominance. With many major signings mooted, Peter Crouch has claimed that Kylian Mbappe ‘will want to come to Liverpool’.
#Mbappe2020 has been a saga for the ages.
For seemingly years the Kop faithful have been hanging on to the distant hope that the best young player in the world bar none will join Liverpool.
Mbappe became the most expensive teenager in history when he joined PSG for £166m, aged just 18-years-old.
Since then the Frenchman has lived up to the hype, this season alone he has netted 20 goals in 19 starts in Ligue 1 and the Champions League. He has also picked up eight assists along the way.
According to Peter Crouch the likes of Kylian Mbappe will be enticed by Anfield. The ex-Reds striker told BT Sport:
“I can see the opposite of that [players leaving]. I’m looking at players like Mbappe and top class players who will want to come to Liverpool.”
What RTK has to say
Would Mbappe be enticed by Liverpool? Of course.
Does that mean we are going to sign him? Not at all.
The young Frenchman will likely cost his next club in excess of £200m, paying that sort of money would be a massive break from the club’s recent transfer policy.
Signing Mbappe would likely take Nike sticking their oar in and part funding the deal in order to reap the benefits of shirt sales.
We don’t care how it happens, we just want it to happen. Sadly, signing Mbappe is likely just a pipedream.
