This summer could see a gigantic tussle between Bayern Munich and Liverpool when it comes to securing the services of Timo Werner.
The 23-year-old German striker has been the subject of much transfer speculation in recent months.
Having banged in 20 goals and six assists in 22 games this season there are many clubs around Europe taking a close look at the young striker.
Where he ends up remains to be seen but it does appear to be a two way tussle between Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
According to Kicker, via journalist Manuel Veth, Bayern Munich are ‘less than pleased’ about Liverpool stepping up their interest in the young hotshot forward.
The #Bayern bosses have registered that #LFC have approached Timo Werner to potentially join in the summer and they are less then pleased. They are keeping an eye on the development. Bayern could have signed the #RBLeipzig striker for €25m last summer (kicker).

Apparently, the club missed out on the chance to sign the striker for just €25m summer. That must hurt.
What RTK has to say
Signing Timo Werner ahead of Bayern would be a massive statement from Liverpool.
The Reds do need to add some variety and depth to their front line, Werner would provide this with abundance.
The German is able to play off the left wing or through the middle, his electric pace would be a deadly alternative to the considered, deep lying approach of Roberto Firmino.
With a report recently claiming that Timo Werner’s release clause expires in April, we can expect that this saga may resolve itself sooner rather than later.
Fingers crossed we upset Bayern Munich ahead of next season, the last thing we need is them finding an heir to Robert Lewandowski, by adding Werner we would be weakening their chances and that could be vital in the Champions League.
