This summer is sure to be an exciting one for Liverpool fans. With The Reds nailed on for their first Premier League title in 30 years and in a strong position to retain the Champions League, there is certain to be money in the pot. Liverpool have long been linked with a move for Timo Werner, the Daily Express recently reported the interest.
The German striker has recently dropped a hint that could pique Kopites interest.
Werner has a goal every 85 minutes in the German Bundesliga this season having netted 20 so far.
The 23-year-old forward is allegedly wanted by a host of top European clubs, with ESPN claiming that Real Madrid are just one of a host of teams interested in his services.
The striker recently told Kicker (via Metro) that he won’t rule out a move to the Premier League, even hinting towards Anfield, saying:
“What do you say if a club comes knocking, a club which is one of the favourites to win the Champions League and makes an incredible offer? Most likely every player would think about it.
“I can generally imagine playing abroad one day…it would certainly be fun playing [in the Premier League].”
What RTK has to say
Not quite a come-and-get-me plea but not far off.
Liverpool fans have been getting excited about Timo Werner seemingly for eternity.
He fits the Jürgen Klopp mould perfectly: he works hard, he is a deadly finisher and he is used to playing intense pressing football.
Out of all the big money forwards we have been linked with, Werner matches Klopp’s philosophy better than most.
Fingers crossed we manage to pull this one off, he could be the rotation option, the plan B that we need.
