The Reds Youth set up a tie with Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup with an own goal seeing them past Shrewsbury Town at Anfield. Goalkeeper: Caoimhin Kelleher – 7.5
Without barely a touch of the ball in the first half the Irishman still impressed when in possession whilst also making some bizarre decisions at times.
Right back: Neco Williams – 8.5
The Welsh wonderkid showed once again that he’s ready to step up whenever Trent needs a rest.
Centre back: Ki-Jana Hoever – 8
The Dutchman’s technique, maturity and confidence are a joy to behold. He has a great career ahead of him.
Centre back: Sepp Van Den Berg – 7.5
Can’t fault the lanky lad, he was calm in possession and read the Salop’s advances well.
Left back: Adam Lewis – 6
The long thought heir to Andy Robertson, Lewis flew down the left with regularity but his touch let him down on occasion.
Defensive midfield: Pedro Chirivella – 8.5
The conductor conducted, Pedro thoroughly deserves a new contract.
Centre midfield: Leighton Clarkson – 7
Perhaps not the most influential of the midfielders but Clarkson was impressive given the circumstances.
Centre midfield: Jake Cain – 7.5
Tenacious in the tackle and smart on the ball, a strong performance.
Right wing: Harvey Elliott – 8
No way is this lad just 16-years-old, there’s no telling what he will achieve. Another night of flying at defenders and terrifying the life out of them.
Striker: Liam Millar – 6.5
The Canadian should’ve threatened more but in his defence he was up against a massive back line.
Left wing: Curtis Jones – 9
The darling of the academy at the moment once again showed why there is so much hype around him. Rabona crosses and scoop turns, he was out to impress.
