Liverpool fans have become accustomed to a certain brand of football of late: a high octane, intense style of playing. Kopites have become used to seeing their players bust a gut for the team. According to Melissa Reddy for The Independent, Liverpool are interested in one such work horse in Heung-min Son but aren’t hopeful of landing him.
Kopites have always applauded and admired the hardest workers.
If a player hasn’t played well but he has given his all, they have always been given the respect they deserve.
A comparison between Danny Ings and Daniel Sturridge is evidence of how much Kopites value determination in a player. Whilst both had their Anfield careers plagued by injuries, and Sturridge scored more goals, Liverpool fans were more sold on Ings because he always gave it everything whenever he got his chance.
It is for this reason that Liverpool fans are admirers of Heung-min Son – the South Korean plays out of his skin whenever he steps on to the pitch.
Back in November, Kopites launched an audacious Twitter campaign to bring the Asian footballer to Anfield after he was spotted in conversation with Fabinho and Alisson Becker.
Melissa Reddy has said that the Liverpool recruitment team are “big admirers” of Heung-min Son but are aware that he is unavailable to them.
What RTK has to say
This would be our favourite buy of the summer.
This writer wants Liverpool to sign Heung-min Son more than Kylian Mbappe, Jadon Sancho, Kai Havertz – any of them.
Son is no diva, he is no lone wolf, he is a team player.
Aside from his obvious talent and impressive work rate, it is his selfless and humble attitude that makes him such an attractive prospect for Liverpool.
Although the chances of his transfer happening are next to zilch, we can dream. He is the ideal Jürgen Klopp player, just think about it – Son flying down one wing, Salah down the other, Bobby in midfield and Sadio through the middle.
