Jamie Redknapp says "the title is done" for Liverpool

Liverpool have been in the business of breaking records of late. After a win over Spurs, The Reds became the first side in the history of Europe’s top leagues to win 20 of their first 21 games. Such is their domestic dominance, Jamie Redknapp believes “the title is done” for Liverpool.

Jürgen Klopp has opened up a chasmic gap at the top of the table. His side have a 14 point lead over Manchester City that can be extended if Liverpool win their game in hand.

Despite the incredible lead at the top of the table, Kopites are wary of saying it’s over. We have been hurt before, in fact we are known for being the only side to be top at Christmas and not win the league.

2013/14 was heartbreaking, 2018/19 was agonising. 2019/20 could be our year but we need to remain focused, we need to keep winning the next game.

According to Jamie Redknapp, “the title is done” for Liverpool. The ex-Reds midfielder told talkSPORT, “Liverpool are too strong this year. It’s impossible for them to throw this away right now.”

What RTK has to say

Why say it, Jamie?

You know you aren’t supposed to say it. We don’t so much as whisper it until we have been on the ale for three days after seeing Jordan Henderson perform his signature shuffle.

Kopites around the world are refusing to accept it yet. We have taken the lead of the gaffer, we just want to win the next game and then the next game after that.

We have too often fallen foul of getting our hopes up. We just want to enjoy the ride and celebrate each win. When it’s over, it’s over but it’s not over until it’s over. Over and out.
