The Reds are as good as it gets at the minute. Jürgen Klopp’s side are 14 points clear at the top of the table and nobody looks like nothing them off their perch. One of the reasons that the side are so dominant is that fringe players give it their all whenever they are afforded their chance, obviously the gaffer would like to keep these players around. This is likely the reason that Liverpool have reportedly rejected a loan bid from Roma for Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Swiss international has impressed when given his chance this season. The ex-Stoke winger was absent for a majority of the start of the campaign due to injury but was sensational when he was handed a start against Everton in December.
According to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool rejected a Roma bid for Xherdan Shaqiri this week. The journo saying that the Reds said there was ‘no chance’ of them letting him go in January.
The thinking behind the reported move is that the Italians are looking to find a replacement for injured winger Nicolo Zaniolo. Their 20-year-old prodigy has been ruled out for the rest of the season and needs covering for this period.
What RTK has to say
Roma can ask for Xherdan Shaqiri on loan all they like, they aren’t getting him. Little Big Jed Shaqiri is one of our most important rotation options.
The ex-Bayern Munich man is arguably one of the most naturally talented backup players in the Premier League, he would walk into most sides in the division. He has shown his quality when he has been given his chance, a goal in the 5-2 win over Everton was evidence of his ability.
Will Shaq go in the summer? Perhaps. If the price is right and there is a replacement lined up. Will he be let go in January? No chance.
