This has been one helluva year for Liverpool. The Reds have been crowned European champions, won the Super Cup and won the Club World Cup. The Jürgen Klopp juggernaut appears to be utterly unstoppable as it heads into the business end of the season. The team’s achievements of the last year have been recognised by the FA (kind of) as Jordan Henderson has been named England Player of the Year. Twitter has been a maelstrom of ecstasy and anger.

Jordan Brian Henderson, my captain my captain, has been at the heart of the Liverpool midfield that has conquered all before them. He has been the near ever present commanding presence in the middle of the park, barking orders and encouragement at his team.

The majesty of Hendo has been even more evident recently as he has dropped into a deeper role with Fabinho ruled out. His versatility is staggering, not only has he filled in as a defensive midfielder, we have also seen him at right back and on the right wing this season.

Henderson being crowned England Player of the Year has caused quite a stir on Twitter. Kopites have been jubilant, bitter rival fans have been in an uncontrollable rage, spluttering “Sterling” over and over to themselves in a corner.

This Twitter user wondered why the Manchester City winger didn’t get the gong.

Whilst one Kopite insisted that the award was always heading to Anfield.

Another bitter neutral slammed Liverpool fans for their voting.

Whilst this supporter believes it is the least the skipper deserves after the criticism he’s suffered.

One Kopite was loving the fume.

But just look at that end of year report – how could he not win it?
