Report: Liverpool again linked with Sandro Tonali

Liverpool have been dominating in the transfer market in recent seasons. Michael Edwards has been buying up the best young players in the world and snapping up diamonds in the rough. Whilst we are constantly linked with Jadon Sancho and Kylian Mbappe, rumours have resurfaced suggesting Liverpool are interested in Sandro Tonali – he is the wonderkid we should go all out for.

Tonali has been drawing attention from throughout Europe. The 19-year-old deep lying midfielder currently plays for Brescia in the Italian Serie A. He has made 18 appearances this season, notching one goal and two assists.

Despite the strong form of their wonderkid central midfielder, Brescia’s spot in Serie A is under threat. Tonali’s side are currently 18th, two points off the bottom of the table. If they were to be relegated this season it would surely be the end of his career with Brescia.

According to Goal, Liverpool have Sandro Tonali on their list of targets – along with Samuel Chukwueze. He may cost a pretty penny though, back in 2018 the Brescia chairman slapped a €300m price tag on the midfielder.

There is also a lot of competition for the youngster – Bleacher Report reported that Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United are just a few of a number of interested parties.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool signing Sandro Tonali would be a massive coup. The Italian is certain to be one of the best playmakers of his generation, he has been doing some downright silly things in Serie A – he has already shown he can take a freekick.

We have never quite replaced Xabi Alonso in the defensive midfield, if we were to bring in Tonali we may finally plug that gap – he has been referred to as the heir to Andrea Pirlo in the past.
