When will this end? Will somebody please just sign Jadon Sancho. For the last year the English winger has been touted as a marquee signing for just about every major club in Europe – the story will rumble on until he leaves Borussia Dortmund. The latest instalment in the saga has seen Jason McAteer back Liverpool to sign Jadon Sancho.
Whether the Reds are even interested in the 19-year-old is anybody’s guess. There have been conflicting reports emerging for months. Though, the latest rumour – leaked by journalist Jan Age Fjortoft – suggested that Liverpool are leading the race for Jadon Sancho.
Ex-Anfield midfielder McAteer is certainly a big fan of the winger, he told the Racing Post:
“I doubt Jurgen Klopp feels under any pressure to make any more moves in the transfer window though if there’s one player I’d love to see him bring to Anfield, it’s Jadon Sancho. Sancho looks like a Jurgen Klopp type of player. He’s young, immensely talented, looks ideally suited to the system which Klopp plays and would be learning off one of the top coaches in the world.”
What RTK has to say
If Liverpool sign Jadon Sancho it could be one of our best moves in years. The England international promises to be one of the brightest talents of his generation, if we were to get him now we could see him play out his prime years at Anfield. If we miss out on Sancho he could terrorise us in the Champions League for years to come.
Although a fee of £120m has been mooted for the teenager, this is peanuts in the long term. People laughed when we paid big for Virgil van Dijk, we would be proved right again if we went all out for Sancho.
