Until Jadon Sancho leaves Borussia Dortmund there will not be a day that goes by where a paper doesn’t link him with a move to the Premier League. The Reds have been rumoured to be leading the race, losing the race, neck and neck in the race, even out of the race. The Daily Star have now reported that Liverpool will win the battle for Jadon Sancho by offering to loan him back until the end of the season.
The Englishman has been catching the eyes of every major club in Europe. He netted 12 goals and laid on 14 assists in the German Bundesliga last season, he already has nine goals and nine assists this campaign.
The Star believe that the Reds are set to beat Chelsea to the £120m winger by offering Borussia Dortmund the option of keeping the player until the summer.
What RTK has to say
If Liverpool sign Jadon Sancho it would be a massive call by Michael Edwards and the recruitment team. The Englishman would likely be a club record purchase and would be a break from the budget buys we’ve become accustomed to.
The Bundesliga man would, however, fit our transfer policy of buying young talent – he would just be by far the most expensive young talent we’ve bought.
By adding Jadon Sancho to the squad we would have an entirely new dimension when it comes to rotation, he can cover either wing and would make us less likely to have to switch up our system if we are struck by injuries. Whatever the outcome, in Michael Edwards we trust.
