Liverpool have the chance to sign several world class players for absolutely nothing.
Once the new year comes the Reds will be able to negotiate deal’s for some of the best talent in Europe who are entering the last six month of their current contracts.
The number of players running down their deals has been increasing in recent times. With a lack of transfer fee, they are able to negotiate better wages and signing on fees with a new club.
Liverpool should look to exploit the contract situation of these three players as soon as possible.
Edison Cavani – Paris Saint-Germain
The 32-year-old Uruguayan striker is the most high-profile player on the list but also the most unlikely due his high wages. Cavani has made just three appearances under Thomas Tuchel this season. He has been pushed out of the PSG first team by on-loan striker Mauro Icardi. Liverpool have the chance to add a proven goal scorer to the squad for free.
Thomas Meunier – Paris Saint-Germain
The Ligue One champions are struggling to tie their player down to new contracts. Belgian right-back Thomas Meunier is another player whose deal expires in summer 2020. At 28-years-old he has plenty of football ahead of him. He could be the man to fill in at right back as Liverpool look to push Trent Alexander-Arnold into midfield.
Boubakary Soumare – Lille
Boubakary Soumare is just 20-years-old and showing bags of potential. A big, strong and talented midfielder he has been compared to Paul Pogba. Lille will be kicking themselves that a player of his calibre has been allowed to run down his contract. According to ESPN he has already attracted interest from Premier League side Manchester United. Liverpool should move for the player who has an entire career ahead of him. It’s a no-brainer.
